Superhero Movie
People from Airplane and Naked Gun and the Scary Movies and Meet the Spartans have made a new film up called Superhero Movie.
There are absolutely no Wayans Brothers involved in this one.
But. That doesn't stop it from being the biggest pile of crap ever.
I normally like these things, I remember getting slated on here for thinking Spartans was funny (probably because I read too many Manfredi books), and I have to admit that the Scary Movies were funny to me in occasional moments, and Airplane was really funny at the time.
But this... I was expecting to laugh, I never really laugh in real life I'm kind of a sad bastard, but some things can make me laugh and this film has pedigree, it even has Leslie Nielsen in it.
It's awful.. utterly, utterly awful. There wasn't one single bit where I even cracked a smile, and I wasn't in a bad mood or anything, it's just shit.
You may or may not trust my opinion, I normally like slow-paced clever films that some people find boring but I look for technical skills in camerawork, dialogue and character development. But these type of stupid satire films are my sort of guilty pleasure normally and I find myself laughing at slapstick. This time not.
Avoid this film like one may attempt to avoid the Mugabe militia. It is bad beyond words and I feel that my review is a complete failure because I didn't let off a stream of terrible derogatory metaphors.
This might help. WORST FILM OF 2008 so far. By a mile.
Having said that, I haven't watched 'Teeth' yet.
