Dude, my father was diagnosed with diabetes, but the lifestyle version, type 2 i think?
Anywho, never knew he had it but when we look back the symptoms were there for years. It was one day because my cousing has diabetes that my uncle insisted that my dad do the blood test on the machine, and it came out as something like blood sugar level 22.
My dad still thinks that he hasnt got it and acts accordingly, he treats it almost like a joke, even though one of his brothers died from complications of it. Right now he is on pills, but i fear that because of his contempt for his illness he will very soon degenerate.
Though we have had our run-ins i hope that one day he will grow up and respect the illness. It something that can be easily controlled and you can live a fullsome life as long as you respect the illness you have.
So good for you dude, as long as you stick to what you need to do, there is no reason why you cant go on as normal. Hopefully you will live a lot longer than you otherwise would have if you continued on your pork life lol.
