I agree with this, generally when I play a game I have the volume turned right down because the sound isn't that important to me. I don't play many role playing games but even if I do I normally read the speech boxes more than listen to the what the character is saying. The only ones I turn up loud are the burnout games, love the sound of the crash, and the music.
