As the PS3 begins its roll-out in North America today with Sony President and its CEO handing them out to the lucky queuers ( they gave away 4
) they just as quickly appeared on Ebay for more than twice the cost price.
Many of the auctions are being removed as they have imposed strict rules and any that are broken are being quickly removed.
However if you have a couple of thousand bucks to spare you can snap yourself up a shiny PS3 and you will have avoided the last weeks camping out on the sidewalk to ensure you were early enough to make your purchase successfully.
On that note even getting there 24 hours before the event is not enough at some stores as the woman who got there with the shop bare found to her dismay after camping out overnight to try and secure her purchase.
What it does show is that all the rumours and all the "bad" publicity that was pushed all over Sony in the last year has gone to show that none of it really mattered and they are still selling like new eyeballs at a blind convention.
Sony will probably be breathing a little more easily now that they have seen there PS3 snatched off the shelves with augusto and Microsoft are more than likely cursing that they didn't manage to cause a lot more image damage than they have.
If they manage to get the production lines buzzing away faster than Microsoft did then it may well be a shorter battle than expected once they reach the European market...
